Week of Caring

Week of Caring is a national United Way project to connect volunteers to needed community projects, and to engage and educate the volunteers along the way.  Through hands-on projects, community volunteers are afforded a unique education about social service programs and an opportunity to make a difference in the lives of others through service.

How does Week of Caring work?

Non-profit agencies have completed their 2011 Week of Caring project proposals.  The projects they need volunteers to assist them with are included on this Week of Caring Projects Available flyer.

If you are interested in volunteering for Week of Caring, June 13-17, please choose a project that interests your volunteer team, complete the volunteer registration form (pdf or doc) and fax it to United Way 444-8929

Volunteers must sign the volunteer waiver form prior to volunteering.  Please return waivers signed by June 13.

United Way will confirm the volunteer project and exchange contact information with the business/organization (volunteers) and nonprofit agency.  The point persons will then be responsible for contacting each other to confirm any last minute details.

Who Can Participate In Week of Caring?

Businesses, employee groups from local corporations, church groups, youth groups, civic and philanthropic groups, United Way supporters, and any caring individual can participate.  Everyone is welcome to perform community service tasks to help local organizations/agencies in need.
